US Embassy is recruiting a Computer Management Specialist, to be based in Maputo.
Duties
- Incumbent is a member of U.S. Embassy Maputo\'s Information Systems Center (ISC) with the primary function of a network and systems analyst/administrator for the Mission\'s unclassified computer network (aka \"OpenNet\")
- This position is directly responsible for all of the OpenNet infrastructure, hardware, software, configuration, deployment, troubleshooting, connectivity, backups, and data management. Incumbent is also responsible for providing direct customer service, end-user support, and training for all user-level applications and systems and will work with other US Government agencies present within the mission and provide computer and network support as prescribed by the International Cooperative Administrative Support Services (ICASS) agreement
- S/He will serve as a local point of contact with the Department’s Enterprise Network Management Operations Center (ENMOC), the IT Service Center and all other IT entities within the Department
Requisites
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering; Telecommunications is required
- A minimum of five years prior work experience as a Computer Network Engineer or Systems Administrator is required
- Level III (good working knowledge) English in order to effectively interact with all Mission members as well as contacts within the U.S. State Department is required. Level IV (fluency) Portuguese in order to interact at a professional level with Mozambican government and commercial partners is required
- Ability to interact with local government officials and commercial telecommunications contacts is required. Ability to work indoors and outdoors and in extreme environments to include heat and humidity, dusty environments, and indoors with or without air conditioned rooms is required
