Health Communications Specialist (re-adv)

US Embassy is recruiting a Health Communications Specialist (re-adv), to be based in Maputo.

Duties

• The Communication Specialist will be part of the CDC-Communication team and will report to the Office of the Director
• The incumbent will design, implement and evaluate communication activities, targeted towards both internal and external audience, to create awareness of CDC’s strategy, mission, goals, and objectives in Mozambique
• The incumbent will be expected to utilize innovative and traditional communication strategies to accomplish this goal
• The incumbent will be responsible to writing a large volume of documents for internal and external such as talking points, speeches, briefing documents, program summaries, success stories, fact sheets, briefing presentations, and memos
• The incumbent will also assist with for managing media opportunities and coordinating public events to increase visibility for CDC funded activities
• Will also ensure CDC implementing partners are in compliance with protocols related to branding and communication
• Will be responsible for coordinating with CDC’s implementing partners to execute events and media opportunities and will work closely with other USG agencies in the U.S. Embassy on the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) activities

Requisites

• Bachelor’s Degree or host country equivalent is required
• This position requires a minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in the communications field
• Level III (fluency – speaking/reading/writing) in English is required
• Level IV (fluency – speaking/reading/writing) in Portuguese is required
