Nurse

US Embassy is recruiting a Nurse, to be based in Maputo.

Duties

• Provides a range of registered nursing health care services, including rendering of first aid, immunizations, as well as evaluating a variety of medical conditions through physical examination and providing the appropriate treatment as mandated by written nursing protocols or verbal orders provided by the Regional Medical Officers, Medical Provider or Post Medical Advisor, or within the incumbent’s scope of practice
• Maintains liaison with local health care providers
• Conducts health orientation for new arrivals and performs various other medical administrative functions including writing of Medevac cables
• Provides Occupational Health Services to Embassy Locally Employed Staff
• Must be available after hours and weekends to share medical duty call with other providers

Requisites

• A Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree, or a three-year diploma from a School of Nursing and a current Western or Western-equivalent registered nurse license is required
• At least two years of occupational health experience or primary care clinic or some combination of both
• Level IV (fluency) speaking/reading/writing English is required
