US Embassy is recruiting a Public Health Specialist - HIV Treatment Lead, to be based in Maputo, Mozambique.
Duties
- The incumbent of this position serves as the Team Lead and provides oversight to CDC-funded HIV treatment activities in Cabo Delgado, Maputo City, Maputo Province, Inhambane, Gaza, Nampula, and Zambezia Provinces
- As the most senior HIV/AIDS Treatment advisor in the branch, the incumbent will supervise several HIV treatment clinicians in the branch and will report directly to the Care & Treatment Branch Chief
- As the HIV Treatment Team Lead, the incumbent will be expected to provide comprehensive programmatic, administrative and managerial advice and assistance in support of treatment activities provided under the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR)
- Responsibilities include day-to-day program management and development, monitoring, reporting and close collaboration with PEPFAR partners to ensure HIV treatment implementation is carried out in accordance with USG strategic objectives and internationally recognized best practices in treatment
- The incumbent will be expected to work closely with other PEPFAR agencies, Ministry of Health, Provincial Departments of Health, Global Fund, International Organizations (IO) and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO) involved in treatment of HIV/AIDS in country.
Requisites
- Host country equivalent of Medical Degree OR Doctoral level degree in medicine, nursing, public health, epidemiology, behavioral or social sciences field
- Five years’ experience in developing, implementing and evaluating HIV/AIDS treatment and related programs is required
- An additional year of experience at a supervisory level with multiple staff is required
- Level III English (fluency in both written and verbal) is required (To be tested)
- Level III Portuguese (fluency in both written and verbal) is required (To be tested)
