World Food Programme is recruiting a Logistics SC 4, to be based in Maputo, Mozambique.
Duties
- In coordination with all relevant parties, ensure that all necessary processes and documents are in place to facilitate the customs clearance and cargo reception, as well as by safeguarding WFP’s interests through avoid / minimise delays and demurrage charges at the port/boarders
- Ensure that all shipping related documents are prepared and submitted on time, fully in line with the contractual terms and compliant with WFP procedures
- Follow-up with Government counterpart and respective clearing agent on the clearance process and commodity release
- For all consignment received, ensure that copies of all documents are returned to the government counterpart for customs process closure
- Report immediately to the head of Logistics or immediate supervisor if food stocks are arriving infested or trucks are arriving without proper documentation
- Storage and Landside Transport Operation
- Liaise with WFP C&F agent on storage and ensure arrangements in place for the accommodation of new consignments, as well as that food and non-food commodities are handled, stored/stacked in accordance WFP storage and documents guidelines
- Liaise with WFP sub-offices/field offices’ focal points to receive the weekly arrivals and report to Beira SO Logistics
- Conduct monthly physical stock counts of all the items stored in warehouse; and ensure that all stock records (stacks/stock cards, receipts, dispatches, etc…) aligned with WFP control system and reports sent copies to CTS Beira for update of WFP corporate systems
- In coordination with Maputo SO Logistics, prepare the daily loading plans, liaise with transporters for placement of trucks, advice receiving parties on the expected arrivals and ensure that the loading process is performed in accordance with WFP guidelines
- Timely and accurate reporting on stock movements, LTI status, DDP implementation progress, commodity aging and shelf-life and Health centres call forward
- Ensure that invoices for transportation services are prepared and submitted on time, fully in line with the contractual terms and compliant with WFP procedures and regulations
- In coordination with Maputo SO Logistics, ensure that the all Service Level Agreement (SLA) movements are timely recorder into the corporate systems and the respective Consolidated Delivery Reports issued, checked against invoiced services and that credit or debit notes submitted by the contractors in a timely manner
- Liaise and interact with the relevant provincial and district authorities for customs or SLA related issues, as well as the logistics focal points of the UN Agencies and NGOs on behalf of WFP Mozambique, in consultation with WFP management
- Perform other related duties as required
Requisites

- Education: Completion of secondary school education. A post-secondary certificate in related functional area is desirable
