US Embassy is recruiting a Project Management Specialist (Agribusiness)/USAID, to be based in Maputo, Mozambique.

Duties
  • The Agribusiness Project Management Specialist will provide technical, financial, and evaluation oversight of projects that support the achievement of economic growth through private sector led agricultural development S/he will assist in the development of new projects and oversee the implementation of projects in support of the goals established by USAID in support of the agricultural sector in Mozambique S/he will collaborate with United States government
    colleagues, Government of the Republic of Mozambique counterparts, other donors, civil society, and the private sector The agribusiness project management specialist will report to the Senior Agriculture and Food Security Officer
Requisites
  • The employee must have the following qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree (or local equivalent) required in an agribusiness or business related field (e.g. business management, entrepreneurship, economics, agricultural economics)
  • Prior Work Experience: A minimum of three years of progressively responsible, professional experience in private sector development required
  • Job Knowledge: Professional knowledge of agricultural and private sector development principles, concepts and practices, especially as they relate to building and managing agricultural and economic growth programs in Mozambique Knowledge of Mozambique’s economic, political, social, and cultural characteristics, government’s agricultural development policies, strategies and regulations, and major trends in national and regional agricultural markets and trade Basic knowledge of gender integration and the impact of climate change on development
  • Language Proficiency: Level 4 English and Portuguese (Fluent) speaking, reading, writing given the complex nature of technical documents and regulations
  • Skills and Ability: The ability to plan, organize, manage, and evaluate assigned projects is required Ability to establish positive relations with other United States government agencies, host country government officials, other donors, civil society organizations, and the private sector Critical thinking, positive attitude, self-motivation, and excellent organizational skills are required Excellent computer skills required
  • Selection Process:
  • Candidates will be evaluated based on education, experience, job knowledge, language, skills and abilities demonstrated in their application materials, recommendations from references, previous employers, tests and interviews This is a local position and compensation will be in accordance with the Local Compensation Plan
