Electrician

PRI is recruiting a Electrician, to be based in Maputo, Mozambique.

Duties

• Operate gas engines and generating equipment of the power plant
• Perform technical updates and modifications on the electrical and mechanical equipment
• Diagnosis, trouble shooting and repair as and when necessary in order to ensure minimum down time of the plant
• Perform new installations of electrical and mechanical equipment
• Carry out maintenance and fault-finding on gas engines or any other electrical, mechanical and generating equipment
• Perform technical updates and modifications on gas engines or any other electrical, mechanical and generating equipment
• Repairs as and when necessary in order to ensure minimum down time of the plant
• Switching of LV/MV/HV equipment as required
• Supervision of subcontractors and assistants
• Will be required to work shift rotations and standby on a remote located site
• Training and mentoring of junior personnel
• Routine plant inspections
• Prepare written documentation of electro-mechanical test results and/or activities
• Ensure the adherence Internal Regulations and relevant legislation
• Maintenance and Repairs of the electrical infrastructure at the housing estate
• May be required to perform other duties and responsibilities in the course and scope of employment with the company

Requisites

• Qualified Electrician with a degree in engineering
• 5 years’ experience in electrical field with proven mechanical expertise/capabilities
• Will be required to work shift rotations and standby on a remote located site
• Knowledge of quality, environment, health & safety control systems
• Control instrumentation experience
• Gas engine, HV and Scada experience
• Good interpersonal skills
• Good English skills
