Operator

PRI is recruiting a Operator, to be based in Maputo, Mozambique.

Duties

• Operate gas engines and generating equipment of the power plant
• Perform technical updates and modifications on the electrical equipment
• Diagnosis, trouble shooting and repair as and when necessary
• Repairs as and when necessary in order to ensure minimum down time of the plant
• Switching of LV/MV/HV equipment as required
• Maximise electrical production
• Routine plant inspections
• Ensure adherence of Internal Regulations and relevant legislation
• Regular communication to Head Office regarding any Operational, HR or any other relevant issues
• All plant administrative duties including but not limited to filing, report writing, document compilation and revisions, and upkeep of engine data register
• May be required, within reason, to attend training sessions or meetings outside of normal working hours
• It is a specific term and condition of employment that the Employee may be required to perform other duties and responsibilities in the course and scope of employment with the company

Requisites

• A basic electrical qualification
• 3 years’ experience in heavy industry
• Will be required to work shift rotations and standby on a remote located site
• Control instrumentation experience
• Portuguese and English proficient
• Knowledge of quality, environment, health & safety control systems
