US Embassy is recruiting a Public Health Specialist (Evaluation Specialist), to be based in Maputo, Mozambique.
Duties
- The Evaluation Specialist has primary responsibility for the design, development, approval, negotiation and implementation of program evaluations and operational research to assess the outputs, outcomes, and impact of the President’s Emergency Plan for Aids Relief programs in Mozambique Working in support of the Ministry of Health and the President’s Emergency Plan for Aids Relief partners, job holder provides technical assistance in the design, implementation, and clearance of public health evaluations at the community, regional and/or national level to ensure implementation of quality studies and the availability of data needed for programmatic decision making The position ensures evaluation and research activities align with CDC ethical standards, communicates clearance procedures to implementing partners, and tracks funds restricted due to ethical reviews Incumbent reports to CDC Mozambique’s Associate Director for Science
Requisites
- Graduation from an accredited university with a Doctoral level degree (PhD, DrPH, or MD) or host country equivalent with a focus in public health, social sciences, biostatistics, science, or evaluation
- A minimum of three years of work experience in public health research and/or evaluation in Mozambique at a higher education setting, government, science, health/medical research organization, or an international organization
- Level IV English (reading/speaking/writing)
- Level IV Portuguese (reading/speaking/writing)
