Description
- Chemonics International, a U.S.-based international development consulting firm, is seeking a Country Director for an anticipated USAID-funded land and resource governance project
- This 5-year, $10-25M project will work to strengthen property rights and build resilient livelihoods for all members of society, especially women
Duties
- Ensure that the needs and interests of Mozambique, and country-based donors supporting work in land tenure, are reflected in program strategies and design
- Ensure effective coordination of project activities with relevant ministries and agencies, civil society and private sector organizations, international donor institutions, various project stakeholders, and other USAID and U.S. government-funded initiatives
- Develop and implement knowledge management and learning activities for effective country-to country learning and knowledge dissemination within the program’s overall knowledge management strategy
- Enable innovative strategies to be developed that address bottlenecks and opportunities in approaching land tenure in country
- Ensure timely delivery and quality of technical deliverables
Requisites
- Minimum of ten years of experience managing and implementing USAID or other donor-funded development programs required
- Experience working collaboratively with host-country governments, donors, the private sector, and other USG partners
- Practical experience with issues in both formal and informal land tenure and resource governance issues, and/or conflict mediation and negotiation around land tenure issues
- Advanced degree in a relevant field
- High level of proficiency in English required (fluency preferred)
