Adra Mozambique is recruiting a Technical Director (m/f), to be based in Nampula, Mozambique.
Duties
- The Technical Director shall be responsible for technical leadership and oversight of the Transform Nutrition Activity
- S/he shall have depth and breadth of technical expertise and experience in designing and implementing comprehensive multi-sectoral nutrition interventions, and related capacity strengthening
- The Technical Director will play the lead role in guiding the implementation of technically sound and innovative approaches, in close collaboration with GRM stakeholders, to increase use of optimal nutrition and WASH behaviors, improve the quality of nutrition services, build nutrition capacities of frontline health workers, and strategically incorporate nutrition objectives into multi-sector policies
- The Technical Director will work with the Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Director to coordinate and systematically disseminate lessons learned with other USAID-funded health and WASH activities
Requisites
- Medical Degree or advanced degree in Public Health or Nutrition
- At least 10 years of senior-level experience in nutrition and/or public health service delivery managing large and complex projects
- Demonstrated experience in managing and coordinating multi-sectoral nutrition projects (across government ministries, and in collaboration with donors working in different sectors)
- Experience implementing at district and community levels
- Demonstrated capacity to support, mentor, and supervise staff
- Strong proficiency in English and Portuguese
- Experience in nutrition, social and behavior change activities, and WASH
- Significant expertise providing technical assistance to project/host country government staff working on nutrition and SBC activities
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively with a wide range of partners with varying interests and priorities in the fields of nutrition, WASH, health, agriculture, and gender
- Prior experience in the Mozambican nutrition sector desirable, preferably including experience with national and sub-national level coordination
- Demonstrated ability to create and maintain effective working relations with senior government personnel, international organizations, NGO partners, and U.S. government agencies
- Demonstrated experience in gender and/or integrating and mainstreaming gender issues into interventions
- Demonstrated experience at a senior level, participating or advising in high-level meetings and discussions with government officials
- Demonstrated ability in monitoring similar programs, interpreting, and utilizing data
