Oxfam is recruiting a Finance Assistant/Cashier (m/f), to be based in Macomia, Mozambique.
Description
- Oxfam is a global movement of people working together to end the injustice of poverty. We are looking for a Finance Assistant/Cashier
- Location – Macomia – Cabo Delgado
- Contract: 7 months contract upon donor grant confirmation
Duties
- To process transactions ensuring that cash claims are thoroughly checked and supporting documents attached and appropriately approved by Finance Officer and Budget holder(s)
- Records cash movements and prepare cash reconciliations
- Manage petty cash, recording all transactions, filing and reconciliations. Ensure transactions are properly recorded and entered into the cash books on a daily basis
- Support program field activities as requested (traveling to the field to pay activists or daily workers)
- To ensure proper paperwork and filing is well maintained in Box and hard copy filing and stamped ‘paid’
- Support in document retrieval for audit purpose
- Support Logistics and Procurement through financial review and procurement process
- Inform the Senior Accountant/Finance Manager of any major discrepancies or problems and assisting in resolving relevant issues/problems
- Implement financial policies and procedures
- Assist the teams in any administrative tasks
- Performs any other relevant duty at the request of the line manager
Requisites
- Complete secondary high school Education (Minimum)
- Proficiency in numeracy and good computer skills (Excel especially, Word)
- Attention to details and good analytical and conceptual thinking skills
- Ability to prioritize work issues to meet deadlines with minimal supervision, work under stress and adjust to constantly changing situations while maintaining focus on delivery and follow-through
- Excellent personal communication skills, in written and verbal in Portuguese and English
- A high level of self-awareness, personal energy and flexibility
- Ability to work in an intercultural environment, creatively, effectively and under own initiative
- Commitment to Oxfam’s overall aims and policies and experience of promoting women’s rights and the interests of marginalized people in all aspects of Oxfam’s work
- Ability to demonstrate sensitivity to cultural differences and gender issues, as well as the commitment to equal opportunities
