  • Contract Type: Regular; full time
Duties
  • Evaluate each sub-recipient’s risk of noncompliance with Federal statues, regulations, and terms and conditions of the sub-award for purposes of determining the appropriate sub-recipient monitoring, based on criteria
  • Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time.   • Ensure sub-recipient monitoring procedures are compliant with federal and other applicable regulations and are consistent with sound business practices
  • Monitor sub-recipient compliance with federal regulations and the requirements of their sub-recipient agreements through site visits, audits, and other mechanisms applicable to sub-recipient monitoring. Monitor progress made to achieve, goals, objectives and activities
  • Recommend actions necessary to resolve issues/concerns
  • Review and validate supporting documentation before processing of financial transactions to ensure all required documents are accurate and complete; review financial and programmatic reports
  • Follow-up and ensure that the sub-recipient takes timely and appropriate action on all deficiencies pertaining to the Federal award through audits, on-site reviews, and other means
  • Issue management decisions for audit findings pertaining to Federal awards provided to the sub-recipient
  • Assessments and review of the sub-recipient’s independent audit
  • Verify that the cost of goods, services, and property are eligible, in accordance with Federal regulations, and expenditures appear to be within the submitted
  • Verify financial records to assure accounting records identify the source of funds and provide for accurate division of charges and cost as related to the sub-award agreement
  • Verify that program income practice provides reasonable assurance income is correctly earned, recorded and used in accordance with the program requirements

Requisites
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions Bachelor’s degree required
  • Knowledge of USG foreign assistance rules and regulations
  • Applicable experience in non-profit governance minimum 3 years, administration, grants management, audit and compliance
  • Established cultural competency in partnering with racial, cultural and linguistically diverse groups
  • Demonstrated understanding of challenges with working in rural, underserved and low-income context; experience living in and/or working in a low-income country a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel) and comfortable in a fast-paced technical environment
  • Advanced level English language skills

  • Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibilities
  • Environment and Physical Demands: VillageReach has no private offices, employees work in a shared, open environment with task and conference rooms accessible to employees for privacy and meetings. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet. Due to the time zone differences between our Seattle office and our Country Offices and location of other global staff, US based staffs are expected to be available for early morning meetings starting at 6am. In addition, our global HQ and Country office staffs are expected to be available for late afternoon/evening meetings up to 6pm
  • Compensation: VillageReach has an established compensation structure that is based on the relevant market and internally transparent. We hire people into the established range based on one’s experience and education and considering internal equity. We do not inquire about salary history
