Senior Lawyer (m/f)

Duties

• Have a strong understanding of the legal framework applicable to the Company and of the Mozambican legislation in general
• Provide high quality and commercial minded legal advice to several business units across the Company on contractual obligations and regulatory requirements
• Interpret and prepare legal documents and contracts as required, including assist in reviewing internal policies, statutory regulations and other formalities
• Analyze existing and new legislation and apply changes to advice provided to internal clients and assist with development of recommendations to accommodate legislation that may impact business operations
• Engaging with the regulator in charge of oil & gas activities and other Government agencies, as required by internal clients
• Supervise and mentor subordinate lawyers (as applicable) and legal assistants
• Ensure that the activities and operations of the Company are compliant with the legal requirements

Requisites

• Fully qualified lawyer with experience of practicing at a senior level as a commercial lawyer, gained in private or industry practice (likely minimum 10 years qualified)
• 5 years or more experience of legal practice in the oil and gas industry
• Language skills Portuguese and English, French an advantage
