Heading is recruiting for its client, an Oil and Gas Company, a Site Engineer (m/f), to be based in Afungi, Mozambique.
Duties
- Plan, supervise field work and interpret contract documents and specifications on job site to ensure standards are met; perform site inspections of infrastructure such as roads and building for structural conditions in accordance with SATCC and Mozambican standards; Provide field advice on construction activities
- Responsible for creating rough sketches, maps, layouts and detailed designs with AutoCAD/Global Mapper/Google Earth/ArcGIS and review, develop and maintain red-lined drawings within a Management of Change and continuous improvement environment
- Initiate conceptual and detailed engineering design, improvements, calculations, assess design and drawings; Review contract documentation to ensure designs are feasible and comply with company, Mozambican standards, international and industry best practices
- Provide technical support in preparation of tender documentation
- Prepare quality daily, weekly and monthly reports
- Organize and attend technical or execution reviews to ensure understanding of work scope and execution requirements and constraints, such may include Design/Construction/Schedule reviews
- Ensure adherence to and enforcement of all safety, environmental, security, compliance, quality standards and procedures established by company, customer, local policies, laws and regulations
- Coordinate with both the H&S team and Environmental team on initiatives, incidents and investigations
- Support with site characterization to assess site condition
- Liaise with authorities, contract and third parties relevant for the project success
- Providing technical advice and solving problems on site
Requisites
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in general civil construction and road building and proficiency in use of CAD
- Minimum of 1 year supervisory experience, up to 5 years preferred
- Experience in Microsoft Office programs (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel) and/or other relevant business information system
- Able to work independently internally and externally to the organization, while keeping his/her direct supervisor informed and involved at key decision points
- Able to summarize, organize and provide regular report of activities and progress to direct supervisor
- Fluent oral and written knowledge of Portuguese and English required
