CNFA is recruiting a Business Development Services Advisor - Mozambique (m/f), to be based in Maputo, Mozambique.
Description
- CNFA is currently seeking qualified candidates for a Business Development Services Advisor for the upcoming USAID-funded Feed the Future Mozambique Market Systems Activity. This Activity will facilitate the development of a competitive agricultural market system that is inclusive, resilient, and sustainable in the provision of goods and services demanded by actors. The approach for this activity will help identify and minimize the root causes of market failure that disadvantage and exclude the vulnerable, women, and youth. This Activity will also create incentives for market actors to invest in developing and sustaining productive relationships for the efficient delivery of goods and services and an improved enabling and regulatory environment for agricultural sector growth. This Activity provides USAID the opportunity to target solutions such as: build an inclusive and responsive financial system for rural individuals and SMEs; address the inefficiencies in the inputs distribution system; establish strong and transparent relationships between actors; among others
Requisites
- At least seven (7) years of experience implementing and leading interventions that strengthen the agriculture sector, with experience in Zambezia, Nampula, and Sofala strongly preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, management, finance, agriculture, or related field
Knowledge of demand and supply gaps in the business development services sector in Mozambique and demonstrated success identifying opportunities to promote fee-based technical and business management services for clients
- Experience supporting business development service providers to improve entrepreneurial, managerial, financial, and technical skills of smallholders and MSMEs
- Experience identifying opportunities for other private and public market actors (banks, farmer/producer organizations, trade associations, service providers, input suppliers) to provide financial and management skills strengthening for smallholders and MSMEs in Mozambique
- Successful experience identifying access to information and addressing barriers to increase the capacity and economic participation of women, youth, and vulnerable populations in agricultural value chain market systems, including markets for water, energy, storage infrastructure, and machinery
- Experience working on USAID-funded or other international donor-funded projects is preferred
- Strong English written and oral skills required; knowledge of Portuguese preferred
