Malaria Associate (m/f)

Description

• Project: Global Health Supply Chain – Procurement and Supply Management (GHSC-PSM) Mozambique
• Background: The overall goal of GHSC-PSM is to procure and provide health commodities for all USAID health programs, including but not limited to, HIV/AIDS, Malaria, Family Planning, and Maternal & Child Health, as well as provide systems strengthening technical assistance to improve supply chain management and commodity security in Mozambique
• The Malaria Associate will be primarily responsible to support the Malaria Advisor to ensure that NMCP commodity needs are met in a timely manner, information and data visibility is available, the implementation of the Stock out reduction strategy and support the foreseen expansion of kit assembling for support malaria case management at community level

Duties

• Assist with the forecast Malaria program commodity needs and prepare supply plans and the results to present to PNCM, CMAM, GF team and USAID
• Support the Malaria Advisor with the coordination needed between the project and NMCP/CMAM and other key stakeholders
• Support the Malaria Advisor with the coordination with the CMAM, GF unit and PSM procurement team to track incoming shipments commodities received and distribution/ consumption information to update
• PipeLine AL, and Malaria RDT databases for national supply monitoring, and support CMAM to have information available to share with Malaria working group
• Contribute to the implementation of Health Facility and Community Health worker AL Kitting operation in Maputo by a 3rd part company at CMAM warehouse; support the activities to ensure the quality control of assembled kits, track inventory and the transport ensure uninterrupted distribution of kits to the provinces
• Support the implementation of Malaria commodity supply chain strengthening activities
• Monitor provincial and central level community AL kit stocks supporting CMAM to prioritize provincial kits production and distribution
• Support the reporting requirements from CMAM, NMCP and USAID/PMI team, especially the data visibility from the service delivery point
• Perform other tasks as directed by Malaria Advisor and collaborate with the other teams, like the WH/transportation, MIS and field support to improve the malaria commodities availability
• Maintain a good knowledge and understanding of all office rules and procedures as set forth in the field office policy manual
• Support achievement of the overall project goals as required to ensure project performance

Requisites

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
• At least 3 years of relevant work experience
• Experience in the Malaria commodities management system and LMIS is required
• Fluency in Portuguese and English is important
• Supervision: The Malaria associate will report directly to the Malaria Advisor and FSDP team leader
• Working Conditions/Duration of Assignment
• This is a long-term position for the life of the contract based in Maputo, Mozambique
