Adra Mozambique is recruiting an Emergency Coordinator (m/f), to be based in Pemba, Mozambique.
Description
- Adra Mozambique - Adventist Development and Relief Agency, a non-profit private legal entity, headquartered at Av. Eduardo Mondlane, 2091 which has implemented since 1987 28 Major Project in Mozambique on Food Security and Agriculture, Water and Sanitation, emergency relief, Health and Nutrition and Education is looking for an Emergency Coordinator who will be based in Cabo Delgado
- The Emergency Coordinator is responsible for working closely with and reporting to the Emergency Management Manage and field staff in Pemba before, during, and after a humanitarian crisis, to be better prepared to lead fast, excellent responses
- He or She will work with country teams to support or manage a team of professionals to ensure that ADRA is implementing high quality, impactful programming with the necessary management and support structures to sustain those programs
Duties
- Ensure compliance with security procedures and policies as determined by ADRA
- Engage in needs assessments, evaluations in the region
- Develop proposal and manage projects at regional level
- Coordinate and supervise project implementation teams
- Draw reports as required by the donor
- Be responsible for administrative duties within the regional office
- Coordinate PMC meetings for projects in the region
- Communications, strategy and planning, work-planning and logistics, and resource coordination will have a role in developing strong relations with donors and partners in their regions
- The coordinator will emphasize partnerships and encourage information flow with local networks, private sector, local government and other entities to enhance impact and advance programming, in close coordination in Pemba
- Participate in Cluster coordination meetings of responses ADRA is carrying out in the region
Requisites
- Has a Degree in Agriculture, International Development or social studies with experience in Emergency Preparedness and response
- Have at least 2 years’ experience in leadership or coordination role
- Experience working with OFDA/BHA funding projects and UN funding projects
- Fluent in Portuguese and English, and good in reading and writing the two languages
- Demonstrated ability in managing stakeholders, developing partnerships and resource mobilization
- The successful candidate must be a self-starter who demonstrates leadership in clear and
- S/he is flexible and creative in planning and problem solving, and has a proven ability to learn quickly, take initiative, meet deadlines, and be accountable for results
- S/he able to work closely with a diverse team of individuals in varied cultural, political, and religious environments doing intense and dynamic work within a fluid security environment
- S/he will be able to influence and advocate with limited authority and work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders
- S/he is proactive in seeking engagement and feedback
