Description
- The U.S. Embassy Maputo is recruiting for the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)- Office of the Associate Director for Science a Research Administrative Assistant intern
- The Research Administrative Assistant will support the CDC Mozambique Associate Director for Science (ADS) team with daily administrative activities including, but not limited to, planning office meetings communicating with implementing partners, and facilitating the tracking and timely review of scientific research projects
- Work hours: Part-time; 20 hours/week
- Salary: Unpaid Internship
- Length of hire: January 9, 2023 – July 7, 2023 (6 months)
Duties
Administrative activities
- Planning office meetings and scheduling departmental trainings
- Communicating with implementing partners including the Mozambican National Institute of Health (INS) and Ministry of Health (MoH) regarding the development, implementation, and monitoring of research protocols and scientific products
- Participating in ADS meetings and assisting with notetaking
- Organizing and updating ADS files on Microsoft Teams
- Tracking CDC staff completion of requisite research trainings
- Booking travel itineraries for ADS staff
Research compliance tracking
- Ensuring implementing partner adherence to ADS procedures and guidelines
- Ensuring that implementing partners properly complete documentation required for CDC clearance of scientific products
- Maintaining a tracking system for scientific products submitted to ADS
- Following up with implementing partners on the status of research projects and evaluations to ensure timely completion
Requisites
- Language: Very good written English required (level 3). Conversational Portuguese desirable. (This will be tested)
- Computer: Experience using Microsoft Excel. Experience with Microsoft Teams is a plus
- Education: Minimum of 2-3 years completed university education required
- Experience: Previous experience working on administrative tasks and coordinating and planning meetings/events
