- Project Summary: MOMENTUM Safe Surgery in Family Planning and Obstetrics is a new USAID funded program
initiated in September 2020 and active through September 2025. Through a consortium of partners
led by EngenderHealth, this project expands awareness of, equitable access to, and appropriate use
of quality, voluntary surgical maternal health (MH) and family planning (FP) services that are
essential to reducing maternal and newborn mortality and morbidity and promoting reproductive
health (RH). MOMENTUM Safe Surgery in Family Planning and Obstetrics focuses on surgical
obstetric care, including safe and indicated cesarean delivery (CD) and peripartum hysterectomy;
prevention and treatment of obstetric and androgenic fistula; and voluntary long-acting reversible
contraceptives and permanent methods (LARCs/PMs)
- Job Summary: As part of project implementation in Mozambique, EngenderHealth is seeking one Consultant
Driver based in Niassa province to support for 7 months ( March 1 to September 30, 2023)
- Number Of Vacant Position: One (1)
- Period: Seven (7) months

- Reports To (Title Only): Provincial Coordinator and Technical Specialist
Duties
- Drive office vehicles to convey authorized personnel, handle delivery and collection of mail,
documents, and other items
- Ensures availability of all the required documents/supplies including vehicle insurance,
vehicle logs, office directory, first aid kit, and necessary spare parts in the assigned vehicle
- Ensures proper day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle through timely minor
repairs, arrangements for major repairs, timely changes of oil, check of tires, brakes, car
washing, etc.
- Performs minor repairs and arranges for other repairs, regular servicing and ensures that the
vehicle is kept clean and mission ready. Logs official trips, daily mileage, gas consumptions,
oil changes, greasing, etc. and fills in the Monthly vehicle data form at the end of the month
- Ensures that the steps required by the rules and regulations are taken in case of involvement
in an accident
- Perform other related duties as required or instructed, including providing support to other
areas of work as assigned by the supervisor
Requisites
- Oral fluency in Portuguese
- Minimum of (3) years of experience; Experience working for a U.S. company or NGO in
Mozambique is preferred
- Valid Mozambican driver’s license and good driving record required
- Understanding of auto mechanics is required
- Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
