- The U.S. Mission in Maputo/Mozambique is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Public Health Specialist (Surveillance) /Technical Advisor for P.H. Preparedness & Response
Duties
- The incumbent will have oversight of key components of the public health preparedness and response program and must have extensive experience in global health security and public health emergency response including infectious disease outbreak response and with post-graduate specialization in Public Health and program management
- Incumbent works under the direction and direct supervision of the CDC Senior Advisor for Public Health Response; represents CDC Mozambique in the context of central level Ministry of Health (MOH) technical assistance, donor coordination, and strategic meetings with MOH, other international and multilateral partners, and United States Government (USG) funded implementing partners. Job holder serves as a technical advisor to all activities related to policy, guidance, programming, and national context that enables implementation of the Global Health Security Agenda (GHSA), public health preparedness and response activities
- Job holder serves as a primary public health technical expert and contact for the agency on all activities aimed at supporting Mozambique Ministry of Health leadership in enhancing health security and public health response readiness - institutional capacity to prevent, detect, respond to public health emergencies due to disease outbreak, natural disaster, or conflict Specifically, the job holder will provide technical assistance for the intensive acceleration of health security that is required at the central level to meet the Government’s commitments regarding the International Health Regulations, to be able to prevent, detect, and respond to infectious disease threats and other public health emergencies
