DAI SPEED is recruiting for a Consultancy Services for the Development of an Agriculture Investor Manual for the USAID SPEED Project, to be based in Maputo, Mozambique.
Description
- The USAID SPEED Project is seeking a mid-level consultant/firm, for a total of 30 days from March to July 2024, with knowledge of the agriculture sector and experience in the development of manuals. The consultant/firm will particularly develop an agriculture sector investor manual with detailed guidelines for initiating and doing business in the sector. The consultant/firm will engage with agricultural businesses (including associations), government institutions, and other key stakeholders
Duties
- Main tasks:
- Conduct a market research to identify agriculture market trends, investment opportunities, regulations and risks in the agriculture sector
- Develop the manual focusing on an introduction to the agriculture sector, investment opportunities, market analysis, investment process, financing options, legal and regulatory frameworks, risk assessment, other relevant information including a flowchart with the required steps for investment in the agricultural sector
- Develop a communication strategy for dissemination of the manual including identification of the target audience, development of key messages, identification of communication channels, creation of engaging content and the dissemination calendar as well as identification of needed resources
- Key Deliverables:
- An Agriculture Investor Manual with clear guidelines for starting and doing agri-business in Mozambique written in Portuguese and English
- PowerPoint presentation on the above in both languages
- A detailed communication strategy for the dissemination of the manual including creation of content, identification of communication channels and a clear calendar
Requisites
- Bachelor’s degree in economics, agricultural science, rural development, or any other relevant field required. Advanced degree (Masters) preferred
- Profound knowledge and good experience in the agriculture sector, agricultural business registration, licensing and requirements in Mozambique
- Relevant experience in market research and investment processes in Mozambique
- Ability to effectively manage and deliver technical assistance on time and within budget
- Experience working on USAID-funded projects is preferred
- Excellent organizational, technical and communication skills with a willingness to take initiative
- English and Portuguese knowledge are required
