The U.S. Mission in Maputo/Mozambique is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Warehouse (wo)man
Duties
- The incumbent will be responsible for moving Expendable and Non-Expendable U.S. Government owned property. Delivers and assembles furniture, furnishings, and appliances to U.S. Government owned properties using proper tools. Assists with annual inventory as needed, to include organizing or cleaning areas where stock is held. Escorts non-embassy employees in residences and commercial spaces as required
- Performs delivery to/collection of goods to/from residences, offices, and cupboard stock rooms. Using Mission approved supply requisitions and under the guidance of the Supply Clerk/Warehouse Manager, picks items for delivery from storage area, segregates and assembles them and moves them to a designated staging area for loading into trucks and then delivers to requestors’ residence/office
- Fills the barcode numbers in the designated field in the issuance/turn-in requisition form and notes the item’s condition. Reports any damage or other irregularities to the Warehouse Manager or Team Lead
- Assists the Inventory/Data Clerk during periodic and annual inventories. Delivers and installs welcome kits to Mission houses, to include cleaning residences prior to a new arrival’s move-in. Delivers representational supplies and assists with their set up for Embassy functions. As needed, speaks with customers during delivery to confirm the proper items are being delivered or removed. Informs Team Lead or Warehouse Manager if the customer has additional needs, or if the needs were not met by the delivery/pick-up team
