CONTACT is recruiting a Project Induced In-migration (PIIM) Manager, to be based in Maputo, Mozambique.
Duties
- Under the guidance of the Social Performance Technical Solutions Manager, The Project Induced In-Migration (PIIM) Manager main activities include to manage implementation of agreed project induced in-migration management plan
- Build relations with district and provincial government and relevant ministries to ensure awareness and understanding of PIIM and promote timely government leadership in addressing PIIM issues
- Build relations with the donor and development assistance community to promote coordination and collaboration in the delivery of PIIIM related program assistance; define relevant scopes of work, identify and contract potential implementation partners to deliver key programs
- Coordinate and collaborate with social investment function and colleagues to promote integrated approach to addressing development issues associated with the project and developing a project social license to operate/project enabling environment
- Work with social performance monitoring & evaluation unit to build appropriate framework for monitoring population and development indicators that inform project of evolving social dynamic on a timely basis
- Coordinate and collaborate with area 4 in PIIM assessment, roles, and responsibilities in PIIIM management; ongoing coordination with other functions within the social performance department
- Active coordination with local government authorities, private sector and CSOs regarding regional development
- Promote discussions among different stakeholders regarding regional development planning
- To frequently moving between Cabo Delgado and Maputo; constant update on political, socio-economic and cultural context
- Current security situation imposes ability to re-frame the program approach and delivery strategy
Requisites
- Master’s degree in social sciences or other relevant areas (e.g., Sociology, Rural Development, Agronomy, Community Development, etc.)
- At least 10 years of relevant working experience in the development field, preferably in one or more areas of PIIM management, including spatial planning, urban planning, community health and/or community capacity building
- Field experience with large scale extractive industries preferred
- Experience in working in remote areas of Mozambique and neighboring countries
- Experience of working under international standards and lender’s requirements
- Fluency in the English language
- Good project management skills and results driven
- Strong communication and team leading skills
- Highly motivated, energetic and enthusiastic
