PSI is recruiting a Country Lead for a Delivering Innovation in Self-Care (DISC) project funded by the Children’s Investment Fund Foundation and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation that supports women to assume greater power and control over their sexual and reproductive health by using contraceptive self-care methods like self-inject
Duties
- Leading successful project implementation throughout the project lifecycle from start-up to close-out
- Overseeing the project management, including M&E, finances, compliance and ensures alignment with the PSI Strategy
- Ensuring project deliverables and donor reports are achieved on time and to the highest standard of quality
- Facilitating senior-level dialogue with the national and sub-national governments, donors, and partners, to ensure that insights about the DISC are elevated to influence policy. This includes supporting advocacy efforts at national and sub-national levels to shift policy on the integration of self-care
- Leading internal and external program planning and reporting, including annual work planning
- Overseeing the sub-awardees and partners engaged in the implementation of the project
- Ensuring collaboration with the other relevant departments within PSI Mozambique and coordination with other DMPA-SC/self-injection initiatives within Mozambique
- Ensuring thought leadership and rigorous knowledge management to facilitate the creation of global goods in self-injection and broader self-care that are adaptable to different contexts within and outside Mozambique
- Developing, managing, and coordinating a team that includes members from different departments and/or based in different parts of the country, including HSS, Programs Operations, SBC, and Evidence
- Serving as the primary point of contact for the DISC Core Team
Requisites
- Master’s Degree (or international equivalent) MSc, MPH, MBA, MHA, MPA or equivalent
- At least 7 years related work experience in public health or related field including 5 years of people management experience and experience working in SRH/FP/MNCH
- At least 5 years of demonstrated experience in successful program management in SRH, including management of implementing partners; a significant focus on self-care is preferred
- Demonstrable successes in using data to make strategic decisions and deploy budgets and resources to deliver results in a cost-effective way
- Excellent analytical and quick problem-solving skills
- Excellent diplomatic skills and proven ability to work effectively with government officials, partners, donors, and stakeholders at high levels
- Experience working with government entities and staff to strengthen the health system
- Ability to monitor and assess the performance of self, other individuals, and/or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action
- Strong leadership skills, with a demonstrated ability to collaborate and work across teams and roles. Ability to persuade and motivate people and teams
- Strong written and oral communication skills. Portuguese and English required
