Solidarites International is recruiting an Activity Manager MEAL, to be based in Mocimboa da Praia, Mozambique.
Description
  • Solidarités International (SI) first intervened in 2019 in response to Cyclone Idai. Due to the crisis in Cabo Delgado, SI conducted an assessment in Mueda in May 2021 and by July 2021 had begun implementing life-saving activities in Mueda. SI has progressively extended its activities implementing activitiess in whole Cabo Delgado province especially in Mueda, Nangade, Muidumbe, Palma, Mocimboa da Praia districts
  • In 2024, SI Mozambique focuses into integrated, multisectoral programming including Rapid Response Mechanism, WASH, Food Security Livelihoods, Non- Food Items, and counts on 150 staffs and a budget of 10M euros thanks to the financial support of BHA, ECHO, SDC, CDCS, UNICEF, AERMC
  • SI has three (3) bases in Mozambique -One (1) coordination base in Pemba and two (2) operational bases in Mueda and Mocimboa da Praia
  • Function Summary: The Assistant to the MEAL Manager supports and integrates MEAL processes and activities across all programmes. Ensures that all activities are implemented and carried out in accordance with standards and, if necessary, proposes adjustments or improvements. Provides methodological support to all programme teams on technical issues related to MEAL cross-cutting issues such as: design of the MEAL plan, collection of quantitative and qualitative data, measurement of indicators, complaint response mechanism, “do no harm” analysis, etc.
  • Submits regular reports on progress of activities to the MEAL Manager
  • Coordinates teams and activities in the absence of the MEAL Manager
Duties
Monitoring and evaluations of SI programs
  • Under the supervision of the MEAL Manager, contribute to the development of M&E plans and tools for all activities
  • Centralize and organize data collection for activities and results as defined in the monitoring plan
  • Under the supervision of the MEAL manager, participate in the consolidation and analysis of monitoring data (including the identification of useful recommendations and lessons learned)
  • Prepare and implement training actions related to new monitoring tools
  • Organize and carry out field visits for monitoring and evaluation purposes
  • Inform the MEAL manager of all necessary/identified logistical and financial requirements
  • Ensure that indicators are regularly entered into relevant systems (e.g. Activity Info)
  • Keep the monitoring tools and files archived in the SOLIDARITÉS INTERNATIONAL office accessible to the program team and updated regularly
Responsibility
  • Participate in the implementation of the accountability strategy as defined and directed by the field coordinator/mission leader
  • Participate in the design of FCRM standard operating procedures
  • Verify that complaints response mechanisms are established and accessible to all stakeholders
  • Ensure that complaints are recorded and entered into a formal database
  • Ensure that complaints are dealt with and that an appropriate and timely response is given to the complainant
  • Participate in training field teams on the FCRM information plan
  • Creation of institutional knowledge: Collect internal and external data to prepare IKB reports on specific issues
HR Management/Capacity Development
  • Participate in the recruitment of service personnel, in collaboration with the administrative service
  • Welcome and inform new employees who work under your responsibility
  • Evaluate and assess the performance of employees under your direct supervision.
  • Supervise compliance with safety rules by personnel under your supervision.
  • Identify training needs.
  • Conduct regular or ad hoc seminars and meetings
Requisites
  • Studies : Minimum 3-year diploma
  • Experience: At least 1 year of experience in a similar position, preferably in a humanitarian context or in an international NGO
  • Languages: Fluent in Portuguese / very good in English / Maconde, Swahili, Mwani recommended
  • Computer skills : Kobo, Excel, PowerBI
