Pathfinder International is hiring a Director of Integrated Services for Nampula.
Duties
- Contributes to the process of setting the strategic and technical direction of SCIP components
- Interacts with other organizations in the same business to capture best practices and approaches and proposes changes to better modalities of operation and program implementation innovatively
- Develops collaborative linkages and searches for programming support with program level government institutions, other relevant organizations and NGOs to promote and strengthen SCIP work
- Attends relevant government and partner’s meetings to further develop collaboration and to obtain new methods and ideas in the area of responsibility
- Provides technical support in the area of Family Planning, Youth Friendly Services, Maternal and Newborn Health, HIV for government partners, SCIP partners, and CSOs
- Support development of curricula, strategies, manuals, guidelines, tools and job aids and other relevant materials
- Presents technical papers and technical reports in the areas Sexual and Reproductive health and child Survival
- Ensure that the quality of work in the SCIP health portfolio is up to the standard of Pathfinder International and integrated to other SCIP components
- Liaises with Pathfinder’s technical teams at headquarters and with donors in order to respond to queries, information requests and to solicit technical information
- Identifies and proposes appropriate OR topics that would be implemented by the M & E unit of the organization in order to improve effectiveness of program implementation
- Support proposal development for the country office
- Supports KIT development
- Contribute to the development and implementation of systems and procedures to improve SCIP Project support to Central and district offices
- Provide technical and management supervision to all district coordinators
- Travels to the districts to provide support to implement SCIP integrated work plans which lead to attainment of corresponding results
- Ensures that program activities are in-line with work plans and conducive to expected and committed results and targets
- Elaborates program reports as per work plan and according to due date while ensures all activities are captured and reported and that the reports are accurate and verifiable
- Ensures that any outstanding issues are dealt with swiftly and effectively following identification of bottlenecks and problems in program implementation
- Review and approval of all activities profiles from the districts and follow up on their needs for execution
- In collaboration with the Directors of Finance and Administration ensures that the management of financial resources is in compliance with Pathfinder policies
- Represents the COP at times when he is out of office
- Establishes relationships with all project component maximizing integration and complementarity within SCIP and government and other collaboration partners
- Proposes and develops collaborative linkages with program- level government institutions, other relevant organizations and NGOs to promote and strengthen SCIP work
- Builds and maintains effective working relationships with government agencies, donors, and both international and local collaborating partners
- Establishes cordial and functional relationships with government partners at provincial and district levels as well as with other related partner organizations
- Carries out all other duties as required by management
Requisites
- Advanced degree in management or public health
- Minimum of 6 years work experience in program management including USAID-funded projects
- Extensive knowledge of USAID regulations and requirements
- Experience with reproductive health/adolescent reproductive health/family planning, child survival or water and agricultural programs highly desirable
- Strong interpersonal and oral/written communication skills and ability to work cooperatively with multiple partners
- Experienced manager of a complex, development program
- Demonstrated leadership in team building
- Experience managing a diverse and multicultural staff
