The Most At Risk Populations project implemented in Tete Province by the Centro Internacional para Saúde Reprodutiva, ICRH-M, aims at improving the sexual and reproductive health seeking behaviour of female sex workers and at increasing their access to quality sexual and reproductive health services through research, capacity building and technical assistance for service implementation.
Duties
Technical responsibilities
- To implement and monitor, technically and financially, the project “Reproductive Health for Most At Risk Populations” in collaboration with other ICRH-M project staff and provincial and district focal persons
- To support the health directorates of Tete Province, Moatize district and Tete city to deliver quality health services for MARP
- To coordinate project activities with partners targeting MARP populations in the province of Tete
- To contribute to the development and implementation of the research activities of MARP project
- To write technical and activity reports on MARP project, as required by ICRH-M and donors
- To contribute to the financial reporting of the MARP project as required by ICRH- M and donors
- To prepare and contribute to regular scientific publications on the work of ICRH-M, in particular of ICRH-M in Tete Province
Managerial responsibilities
- To provide technical assistance and supervision to the other ICRH-M technical officers of Tete office, including those working in MCH projects for the implementation of project activities and report writing
- To ensure the follow-up of the administrative and financial issues of MARP and other projects of Tete Province
- To support the administrative, logistic and financial departments of the office in Tete in coordination with the national director and national responsible of administration and finances, i.e. ensuring compliance with ICRH-M administrative, financial and procurement rules and regulations
- To lead the development and implementation of annual work and monitoring plans of ICRH-M in Tete in collaboration with the project officers
- To prepare, in collaboration with the ICRH-M colleagues, project proposals to acquire additional funding for the organisation
Representational responsibilities
- To represent ICRH-M in Tete Province with governmental partners, such as the Provincial Health Directorate and local and international non-governmental organisations, in coordination with the MCH senior advisor and the national director
Requisites
- Medical Doctor or superior level health worker
- MPH and/or research experience would be an asset
- At least 3 years of programme and office management skills
- Experience in working with various donors, such as USAID and UN agencies
- Thorough knowledge of sexual and reproductive health and rights in low-resource settings, in particular for MARPs
- Leadership, communication, inter-personal and team building skills
- Fluent in Portuguese and English
