The Care & Treatment Sub Unit Manager is a member of ICAP – Mozambique’s Central Technical Team. The Care & Treatment Sub Unit Manager is responsible to provide technical direction for the Care and Treatment Sub Unit activities (Adult Care & Treatment, TB/HIV, Pharmacy and Lab), under the Integrated Projects Technical Assistance and Capacity Building implemented by ICAP in four provinces of Mozambique.
The Sub Unit Manager is responsible for planning and strategic development, technical assistance, training and technical support for the implementation of activities related with care and treatment. The role requires direct collaboration with the Ministry of Health of Mozambique (MOH) and other partners at national and provincial level for the development and expansion of the activities of ICAP-Mozambique regarding care and treatment through collaboration via technical working groups.
Duties
- In coordination with the Technical Director (Clinical Systems Manager), develop the strategic vision for the activities within your sub unit area to develop the program concept and support implementation
- Provide technical advice at partner meetings and technical working groups related to Care & Treatment
- Support the MOH with other partners to develop and expand programs
- Develop and adapt instruments and tools to be used by clinical staff working with district and health facility support
- Monitor activity implementation in relation to plans and target achievement, coordinate with the M&E Sub Unit developing actions to use and analyze data and information for program management at all levels of program intervention
- Provide technical advice to multi-disciplinary teams at province and district levels
- Develop curricula, training materials, job aids, and other support materials for clinical service providers
- Identify needs and develop tools to evaluate quality of services, support Quality Improvement strategy, implementation, monitoring and sustainability
- Develop, adapt tools used by clinical staff at Health Facility and District level
- Identify and document on program success, challenges, lessons learned for internal and external wider public use
- Develop technical documents and reports as needed
- Develop technical presentations for national and international forums
Requisites
- Medical Degree is required
- A Master’s Degree in Public Health or similar degree is an asset
- Experience in the development, management, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of programs of care and treatment for HIV (minimum three years)
- Experience in managing diseases control programs in sub-Saharan Africa
- Experience in training and technical assistance
- Experience in preparation of technical documents (manuals national protocols, manuscripts)
- Excellent oral and written communication in English
- Portuguese fluency an asset
- Willingness to travel to the provinces
