Air-Conditioning Technician

US Embassy is recruiting a Air-Conditioning Technician, to be based in Maputo.

Duties

• Air Conditioning Technician, diagnoses faulty equipment, makes repairs, or replaces, modifies or relocates equipment on special-purpose refrigeration and air Conditioning units and refrigeration systems
• Performs circuit analyses, and applies electronic principles in order to fault-isolate and repair the various digital devices contained in highly complex A/C equipment
• Additional duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: installing, modifying, and repairing new and/or existing utility connectors regularly installing, maintaining and repairing air conditioning and refrigeration systems to provide specific and critical climactic conditions
• Modifying and balancing various elements of systems designed to meet a wide variety of extreme and critical conditions
• Reviewing plans or specifications to determine the size, shape, and location of equipment; planning installations to
• Modifying, altering or substituting system components and elements to meet specific pressure-temperature characteristics; working from building plans, blueprints, work orders and sketches
• Planning and laying out routing, placement, slant, slope, fall and proper operation of new and existing systems and equipment; locating system leaks or obstructions to repair or clear them
• Cutting, bending, and assembling pipe fittings. Post has over 410 Air Conditioning units
• Daily driving of USG owned service vehicles in the performance of assigned duties, providing assistance within the workgroup and other requirements as assigned

Requisites

• Completion of secondary school and1 year of vocational training in the field refrigeration and A/C systems is required.
• Possession of a valid Mozambican driving license
• Minimum of three years in Air conditioning and refrigeration is required
