American Cultural Center Director

US Embassy is recruiting a American Cultural Center Director, to be based in Maputo, Mozambique.

Duties

• The incumbent leads efforts to engage Mozambican audiences, providing information about the United States, direct contact with Americans, exposure to American culture and values, thereby promoting greater mutual understanding
• The Director is responsible for the planning and management of all activities of the Center, under the direction of the Public Affairs Officer and Assistant Public Affairs Officer

Requisites

• Bachelor’s degree or host country equivalent in public relations, law, communications, liberal arts, humanities, social sciences, hard sciences, international relations, business and related specialty fields (marketing, management, finance, organization, logistics, etc. ), journalism, visual and performing arts, education is required
• Five years of progressively responsible experience in the field of project management, events management, public communications, events organization, or government relations is required
• Level IV (fluency) reading, writing, speaking English is required
• Level III (good working knowledge) reading, writing, speaking Portuguese is required
