Artisan Semi Skilled – Rigging

Grindrod is recruiting a Artisan Semi Skilled - Rigging, to be based in Maputo.

Duties

• Ensure all rigging in the plant are in good safe condition
• Ensure all rigging tools and equipment in the section are in safe condition, before and after rigging tasks
• Assist with removal and installation of mechanical and electrical equipment
• Assist with removal and installation of conveyor equipment
• Assist with removal and installation of structures
• Assist with inspection, maintenance and repair of rigging equipment
• Assist with ensuring that all scheduled maintenance is carried out as planned
• Assist with inspection of ropes, slings, crawl beams, chain blocks, and shackles
• Assist with rigging activity on breakdowns and ensure that they are addressed effectively

Requisites

• Minimum qualification to perform: Grade 12
• Preferred qualification: Basic rigging from mechanical technical college
• Basic understanding of rigging techniques to perform, rigging maintenance
• Must be physical fit to carry rigging equipment and able to work with heights
• Good working knowledge of operation and maintenance of bulk ore material and handling plant, rigging of conveyors, drives, machine hydraulics, pumps, rotating mechanical and electrical equipment
• At least 2 years experience in a similar position
