Assistant Financial Controller

Inside Capital Partners is recruiting an Assistant Financial Controller, to be based in Nacala-Porto, Mozambique.
Duties
  • Creating financial statements and Business Presentations
  • Preparing monthly, quarterly and yearly financial reports
  • Ensuring all accounting practices are in compliance with legal guidelines and established accounting principles
  • Assisting with billing and tax documentation preparation
  • Collaborating with the IT department to maintain financial records and system processes
  • Identifying solutions to discrepancies in financial records
  • Assist FM with management of all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P
  • Coordinate and assist with the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances
  • Coordinate and assist with the preparation of regulatory reporting including annual and periodic program review audits
  • Research technical accounting issues for compliance and FM as needed
  • Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
  • Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
  • Additional controller duties as necessary
Requisites
  • 5+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience
  • Degree / BSC in Accounting and Finance is required
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
  • Experience with financial statement preparation for all types of legal entities
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process
  • Experience in preparing and review of partnership, corporate, payroll
  • Experience with corporate accounting
  • Experience with various accounting software administration –SAGE ACCPAC experience will be helpful
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively
  • Willing to relocate to Nacala City. Work and live in Nacala

  • Expert knowledge of accounting and financial principles, regulations and best practices
  • Excellent understanding of governmental guidelines, tax laws that affect the company
  • Highly organized with keen attention to detail
  • Proficient with data analysis, critical thinking and problem-solving
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in basic office and accounting software programs
