Médicos com África - CUAMM is recruiting a Cabo Delgado Emergency Response Project Manager (m/f), to be based in Pemba (with missions in the field), Mozambique.
Duties
General functions
  • In collaboration with Maputo coordination office, coordinating the emergency activities in Cabo Delgado, ensuring coordination among the different Project Managers (ECHO Project, C4D Project, ENI Project, and other projects) and CUAMM administrative staff
  • Representing the organization at institutional meetings with international and national partners and with the Government in order to harmonize the implementation of emergency activities
  • Ensuring compliance with deadlines and contents of the projects, while ensuring timely updates on possible project changes
  • In collaboration with the administrative department of Cabo Delgado, ensuring the correct financial and narrative projects reporting (within the procedures framework of the Organization/donors)
  • Participating in the provincial humanitarian response cluster
Specific functions
  • Activating coordination mechanisms with CUAMM staff present in the various implementation districts in order to share and monitor the work plan and operating budget
  • Establishing a calendar of coordination meetings (ad hoc, weekly, etc.) with the staff. Action points will be then communicated to Maputo Coordination Office and HQ in Italy, when necessary
  • Keeping Maputo Coordination Office and CUAMM’s HQ updated on the progress of the implementation of the emergency activities in Cabo Delgado
  • Coordinating programmatically and logistically all projects related to the humanitarian response in the Province of Cabo Delgado
  • Facilitating the collection and transmission of data, as required by the projects, in order to document the progresses to achieve the indicators
  • Maintaining the relations with government counterparts, with donors present in the Province and with key stakeholders such as communities, local and international NGOs, etc.
  • Defining, monitoring and updating the activity plan, consistently with the contents of the project, and following the guidelines defined with donors
  • In collaboration with the administrative department, monitoring the progress of the project expenses
  • Defining any project amendments (narrative and financial component) necessary to adapt the projects to the needs of the context
  • Drafting the narrative report, using the format requested by the donors and respecting the deadlines as per contract, while supporting the administrative department in drafting the financial report
  • Preparing all necessary documents (acordo de desempenho, quarterly updates, etc.) to update the Provincial/District Health Authorities on the project implementation status
  • Ensuring photographic documentation
  • Organizing/Participating in the periodic updating meetings related to the implementation of projects
Requisites
  • Proven experience of at least 5 years in program management and coordination in humanitarian crisis context
  • Previous experience in managing UN agencies funded programs and representing international organization at coordination clusters
  • MSc in social sciences, political science, development, management, or similar
  • Solid knowledge on English and Portuguese languages spoken and written
  • Desirable skills: Background in Humanitarian Intervention/Public Health/Epidemiology/Community Health
