FHI360 is recruiting a Chief of Party - COP, to be based in Maputo, Mozambique.
Duties
- Provide technical leadership for the project in the design, implementation, and evaluation of SBCC activities
- Ensures interventions reflect high technical quality, are evidence-based, community-driven, and in line with provisions of the award
- Provides direct technical guidance in the development of SBCC strategic communication and SBCC community advocacy and capacity strengthening together with dedicated staff
- Facilitate strategy development linked to development and implementation of various campaigns
- Supervise designated technical teams
- Provide ongoing mentorship and capacity strengthening to project staff as well as partners and Government institutions to ensure strong skills-transfer and facilitate productive working relationships.Oversee the development of annual work plans and budgets; quarterly, annual, and technical reports; and ensures all operations are in compliance with USAID rules and regulations
- Work closely with colleagues in both the public and private sectors to achieve the project\'s objectives
- Present program results, based on M&E data, to USAID and the government and to other professional colleagues, both in Mozambique and internationally
- Coordinate project activities with those of other Mozambican programs, and CAs under USAID portfolio
- Direct all aspects of Project implementation
- Ensure the achievement of target outcomes, results, and impacts as specified in the Task Order contract
- Provide overall project management and guidance to team members and consultants
- Serve as the point person for FHI 360 with the USAID CTO for the project
Requisites
- At least 10 years demonstrated experience in the design and monitoring of effective, evidence-based social and behavior change programming, including demonstrated experience with community-based and innovative methods
- At least 5 years of demonstrated experience in the management of a complex project
- Master's degree in public health or other related area, or bachelor\'s degree with at least five years additional relevant experience
- Demonstrated leadership success in: achieving project objectives, the use of community level and innovative approaches in SBCC or other related sectors
- Demonstrated knowledge/experience of USAID policies, procedures and approaches related to program design/implementation, budgeting, monitoring and evaluation
- Solid and up to date knowledge of current and emerging issues, strategies, and evidence in SBCC and HIV, family planning, malaria, gender and/or other health areas
- Demonstrated capacity to build and maintain productive working relationships with a wide network of partners and stakeholders
- Strong written and oral communication skills in English
