Chemonics is recruiting a Chief of Party (m/f), to be based in Maputo, Mozambique.
Description
  • Chemonics seeks a Chief of Party for the five-year, USAID-funded Mozambique Integrated Malaria Program (IMaP) to assist the Government of Mozambique. IMaP will contribute to reducing malaria mortality, morbidity, and parasitemia in targeted provinces across Mozambique. This will be achieved by increasing utilization and uptake of quality malaria prevention and control interventions. The project’s activities will improve the quality of implementation and use of facility and community-based malaria services and by strengthening the data flow between these systems. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world
Duties
  • Provide overall project leadership, management, and technical direction
  • Serve as key liaison with USAID, the government of Mozambique, project stakeholders, and counterparts in the public and private sectors
  • Manage and supervise the work of project personnel and subcontractors
  • Ensure that all project assistance is technically sound and appropriate
  • Collaboratively create and implement a strategic, long-term programmatic vision
  • Oversee project work planning, performance management, and strategic communications
Requisites
  • A masters’ degree in Public Health, or in a related field
  • Extensive experience in implementing malaria or other public health programs
  • At lease seven years of experience working with public health programs in developing and transiting countries
  • Demonstrated skills and experience managing a program of similar magnitude and complexity
  • Prior international donor experience preferred
  • Knowledge of USAID and its contractual and reporting requirements preferred
  • Excellent English and Portuguese communications skills, demonstrated leadership, and the ability to work collaboratively across technical disciplines
