CONTACT is recruiting for their client, a multinational company operating in the Oil & Gas sector, Civil / Concrete Supervisors, to be based in Pemba, Mozambique.
Duties
- Answering to the Civil QA/QC Lead, the CIVIL / Concrete supervisor shall be responsible for inspiring safety commitment in client and all contractors and subcontractors teams via deep knowledge of HSE and leadership by example
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant HSE requirements across works to promote a healthy and safe work environment
- Analyzing and reporting performance of all contractors and subcontractors activities, identify any deviations/risks and contribute to timely propose mitigations to project management team
- The construction and concrete supervisor is responsible for ensuring the site works are properly managed and executed by the contractor and their approved subcontractors in accordance with the contract agreement
- Monitoring and review of contractor related assurance activities and verification documentation
- Assure contractor is performing all works in accordance with the approved plans and procedures
- Report activities which may have a detrimental effect on HSE, Quality and schedule to supervisors
- Act as primary QA / QC / Civil and concrete inspection representative with main contractor ensuring that fully conversant and compliant with all company project QA / QC / inspection related standards and procedures
- Review contractors’ compliance company discipline supervisors, superintendents, engineers, planners, authorities and the contractor, vendors to ensure key contract deliverables are met
- That the key deliverables comply with safety compliance, environmental management, assurance, budget management and control, project schedule milestones and adherence to project approved and national specifications, standards and written practices
- Assist to gather and validates ‘lessons learnt’ from all project team and provides feedback
- Being responsible for construction activities within specified area in close collaboration with EPC contractor as per project rules including project objectives for HSE, quality, schedule and cost aspect
- Coordination with other departments for the safe and on‐time execution of the work, to deliver a fit‐for‐purpose facility
Requisites
- A Degree/Diploma qualification, or equivalent, in Civil related discipline field and/or Oil & Gas construction projects
- At least 10 years of specific experience in civil and infrastructure works and a suitable general knowledge in oil and gas industry
- Full understanding of areas critical to the success of large complex projects: safety, environmental, work organization, cost, schedule, quality, organizational competency and reputational risk
- Strong English written and verbal communication skills is required
- Fluency in Portuguese or French is advantageous
- Strong HSE culture and safety leadership
- Effective communication and leadership skills
