- Land O'Lakes International Development is seeking candidates for the Climate Change Adaptation Manager position for an anticipated USAID-funded Feed the Future Mozambique Climate Smart Agriculture activity
- The five-year project will focus on promoting improved agricultural practices among smallholders to increase their productivity, profitability and resilience to climate change
- The targeted value chains will include cowpea, pigeon pea, sesame, soy, groundnut, common bean, and banana
- Activity interventions will promote climate smart agricultural techniques and technologies to farmers and farmer groups in the Beira Corridor region, and work closely with key agricultural value chain stakeholders to improve productivity, strengthen resiliency and reduce the negative greenhouse effects of farming
Summary
- Land O'Lakes is seeking an experienced Agricultural Development Professional to serve as Climate Change Adaptation Manager working to improving value chain productivity using a facilitative approach and with a strong emphasis on climate smart agriculture and resilience. S/he will play a lead role in working with smallholder farmers and farmer groups to adopt improved agricultural practices
Requisites
- A master’s degree in a relevant field of study, such as: environmental management, agriculture, physical sciences, climate change or other
- 3 years of experience or more as the technical manager for donor-funded conservation agriculture and/or climate smart agriculture projects. Additional years of experience can be substituted for education
- Demonstrated knowledge of climate variability and change and agriculture
- Demonstrated experience working with smallholder farmers on improved agriculture techniques and practices
- Experience working with agribusiness systems in Mozambique
- English written and spoken fluency
- Portuguese fluency
