- Cimentos da Beira, Lda. a cement and concrete producer company, based in Beira, Mozambique is recruiting a Commercial Manager
- Is a senior position who reports to CdB ExCo and requires a person who is dynamic, energetic and who acts in a responsible manner; It is vital to develop a clear strategy, well defined goals and a detailed plan of execution which is supported by the whole commercial team
- The manager will lead this sales and marketing team to achieve monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets of cement and concrete
- The position requires someone with the ability to understand economics and the behaviour and drivers of free markets and who understands how to position the company’s products in these changing environments
- Good records and statistics of all relevant parameters must be developed and maintained and the information used to maximize the position for our products
- The person must understand what drives the changes and have a strategy in place to counter or support the changes or to use alternative ways in dealing with the effects of the changes
- The position is responsible to set budgets in line with company objectives for both volumes and prices; To achieve these targets, new business accounts/customers has to be developed while existing clients must not be neglected and the incumbent must have the interest and ability to do so; Produce monthly reports about market trends, competitor’s prices and marketing strategies, areas targeted by commercial team
Duties
- Develop and maintain a strategy to market and sell cement and concrete in a responsible manner which will benefit the clients, the company and the market in general
- Develop and maintain a reliable and accurate database that covers the relevant statistics that cover all aspects of the commercial function
- Communicating with clients and other stakeholders on a regular basis to understand the preferences and requirements of the markets
- Interpret market conditions and trends in such a way that the products of Cimentos da Beira can be placed at competitive prices and in volumes that will support the objectives of the company
- Give guidance and information on growth opportunities
- Create communication channels to stay in touch with private and public projects and developments
- Gain the necessary knowledge about the companies local and export markets to be able to advise and direct his sales team to achieve superior results
- Develop, implement and monitor proper management systems and procedures throughout the sales and marketing function of the Company
- Ensure that an effective marketing and sales plan (annual and monthly) is compiled and implemented that will allow the
- Company to achieve a major market share in Central Mozambique for both cement and concrete products at realistic and market related prices
- Provide support for the development and maintenance of ISO standards
- Interact with all stakeholders of the Company including local authorities
- Together with the management team, set a sales target based on the objectives of the company
- Regularly report on progress to achieve targets
- Compile an annual budget based on the sales targets for each financial year
- Conduct the training and motivation of the sales and marketing staff
- Critically assess all the customer and client interactions with the company to remove hindrances and exploit favourable experiences
Requisites
- University degree in Marketing, Economics or a related degree in Management from a reputable institution of higher education
- Very knowledgeable and experienced in Sales and Customer Service
- Someone who understands the requirements and demands of a young business
- An aptitude for solving problems and taking sound decisions
- Good leadership skills with a strong attitude to be a team player
- Valid driver’s licence, willing and able to travel on business in and out of the country
- Competent in Microsoft Office package (Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint) is essential
- A person with good work ethics and integrity
- Preferred: Degree in Management or related, Economics
- Good knowledge of English, spoken and written
- Excellent knowledge of Portuguese, spoken and written
- Previous experience in a similar position
- Previous experience in Africa’s environment (namely in Mozambique)
