PSI is recruiting a Communication Manager, to be based in Maputo, Mozambique.
Description
  • PSI Mozambique is looking for an experienced Communication Manager to take over the communication activities under the Small Town Sanitation (a 4 year WASH Program, funded by USAID)
  • The position will be responsible for all communication activities (development of communication pieces, of IEC material and other SBC material) within the project
  • Will be responsible for the management and development of all communication materials, management of external agencies, advertisement agencies, media outlets, etc
Duties
  • Lead the development of the project and organization communications strategy and plan. The strategy should be developed with the collaboration of the project team
  • Coordinate and implement the communication activities according to the developed plan, and based on our target audience
  • Lead the development of all creative content (write, edit) and distribute content, including publications, success stories, press releases, website content, power point presentations and other marketing material that communicates the project’s activities
  • Lead the work and management with creative agencies to develop high quality media and multimedia content for the project SBC activities (IEC material, Digital content, etc)
  • Organize and conduct field visits to gather strong and relevant content from the project activities, in collaboration with the project team
  • Manage internal and external communications for the project and the organization
  • Create and maintain a contacts database of key stakeholders
  • Prepare and manage the communication budget
  • Seek opportunities to enhance the reputation of the project, and coordinate events as required
  • Maintain records of media coverage and collate analytics and metrics
Requisites
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, or related field
  • Minimum of 7 years' relevant experience in a communications role
  • Knowledge of desktop publishing software (InDesign/Photoshop) is preferable
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
  • Good time management and organizational skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, content management systems, and social media platforms
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills in English and Portuguese, extensive computer skills, interpersonal and cross-cultural skills, and be highly motivated and organized
  • Strong preference for a citizen of Mozambique
