Completion Operations Engineer (m/f)

Duties

• Coordinates all completion operations in the field to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of high quality fit for purpose wells
• Supervision of completion assembly make-up testing and QAQC of equipment in the T3 supply base prior to load out
• Supervise execution of completion operations at the wellsite as assigned by SCOE
• Support SCOE in liaison between service contractor personnel in country, the Lead Completion Engineer in London and Drilling & Completions Superintendent
• Ensuring all service contractors execute the completion/workover operation as per the final agreed completion program, any deviation will be raised by Management of Change (MoC) to be approved by Well - Delivery senior management
• Responsible for implementation of Sasol’s policies, procedures and guidelines relating to completion operations
• Ensure that all equipment required for the jobs are properly QA/QC by Contractors, in good operating conditions and ready for the operations by monitoring and providing corrective actions during the inspection and acceptance phase
• Ensure that all activities by onsite personnel are in compliance with Permit to Work and approved program
• Ensure that the Job Safety Checklist (JSC) and Job Safety Analysis (JSA) are properly completed before every job and before every change in activity
• Ensuring accurate and transparent reporting of NPT and non-conformance events. Conduct root cause analysis and ensure all action items are captured and closed out
• Capture lessons learned and perform post operational debriefs and prepare report of lessons learned to ensure continual improvement, playing an active role in building a high functioning Well Delivery Team
• Drive operational excellence by collating performance KPI’s and reviewing quarterly to drive continuous performance improvement
• Function as a safety leader at all times to play an active role in establishing a culture that ensures SHE and operational risks have been assessed and that appropriate mitigation and all necessary contingency plans are in place prior to commencing operations
• Deliver effective support, advice, and resources to Operations teams and Functional groups and support Mozambican personnel in their achievement of their personal development plans and in turn Sasol’s nationalization targets
• Assists in preparation and review of detailed operational programs, well specific risk assessments and complete/workover well on paper workshops
• Monitors and reviews project inventory levels against ongoing requirements to ensure any issues are flagged early

Requisites

• Minimum 7 years of completion experience within an oil & gas operator including remote locations
• Bachelors or more advanced degree in an engineering discipline highly valued
• Specific technical experience of; selective multizone completions, sand control systems, horizontal wells, tubing conveyed perforating, upper completion technology (safety valve, packers, chemical injection downhole gauges, etc.), wireline (basic log interpretation CBL/VDL USIT and correlation techniques), slickline (basic wireline fundamentals, plug setting operations fishing tools and intervention), coiled tubing (basic fundamentals including downhole coiled tubing tools), drilling and completion fluids, wellbore clean up tool fundamentals and practices. Experience of intelligent completion systems would be advantageous
