Consular Greeter Intern

US Embassy is recruiting a Consular Greeter Intern, to be based in Maputo.

Duties

• Intern would assist with intake and be in a position to greatly improve the efficiency and speed of processing Non- Immigrant Visa (NIV) and American Citizen Services (ACS) cases
• He/she would direct applicants arriving at the chancery where to go and what to do next in the process, collect applicant’s documents and perform prescreening to make sure packets are complete, without extraneous docs
• Pass to Cons assistant so that intake can be performed in the background without taking up time of cashier
• In charge of pass back of passports at the Embassy entrance. Answer applicant’s questions and keep them informed of status. Consular section has two Consular Assistants already, but bottlenecks exist because only two people are able to work at the windows
• Greeter would facilitate the process in the waiting room and through security

Requisites

• At least one year of university education completed in the SADC region
• Level 4 (Fluency) Speaking/Reading/Writing English (This will be tested)
• Level 4 (Fluency) Speaking/Reading/Writing Portuguese. (This will be tested)
