The U.S. Embassy is recruiting one Economic Growth Communications Officer (m/f), to be based in Maputo, Mozambique.
Description
- The Economic Growth Communication intern would provide communication support to the Agriculture, Environment, and Business office at USAID. This would include soliciting weekly updates from partners, drafting success stories, providing updates to stakeholders in USAID/Washington and the GRM, and assisting with reporting annual and quarterly results. The intern may also draft some news stories for local media, in conjunction with the USAID Development and Outreach Communications officer, and the Embassy Public Affairs Office
- All qualified Mozambican students who meet the education requirements below
- Work hours: Part-time; 20 hours/week
- Salary: Unpaid Internship
- Length of hire: January 17, 2022 – July 15, 2022 (6 months)
Duties
- Coordinating collection and drafting of weekly bullets from AEB partners and from items in the news
- Visiting project sites to draft brief articles/success stories for the Mission’s Facebook page, Mozambican press, and USAID/Washington
- Assisting with the compilation and drafting of the annual performance report
- Assisting with presentations for Portfolio reviews, and other tasks as they arise
Requisites
- Language: English and Portuguese (Written, Spoken, Listening) Level 4. (This will be tested)
- Computer: Very good knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Education: Bachelor’s/First degree in one of the following subjects: Agriculture, Economics, Environment, Water and Sanitation, Journalism, Communications, or Public Policy
- Experience: Not required
