World Education is recruiting a Economic Strengthening Specialist, to be based in Chimoio, Mozambique.
Duties
- Develop and coordinate strategy and interventions for economic strengthening and livelihoods activities with vulnerable families and school partners and integration of the strategy into ongoing partner interventions
- Identify or oversee development of relevant curricula and training materials related to Village and Savings Loans (VSL) methodologies to help build capacity of local partners
- Strengthen and reinforce linkages for OVC and caregivers to livelihoods support services in communities and with appropriate ministries
- Foster relationships with the private sector for ongoing support and partnership
- Lead training for NGO/CBO partners in designing and implementing effective economic strengthening activities
- Collaborate closely with other economic strengthening partners in areas of geographic overlap in the Manica, Sofala, and Zambezia provinces
Requisites
- Fluency in English and Portuguese
- Familiarity with community-based savings and loans programs
- BA in International Development, Agriculture, Business or related field
- Minimum 5 years technical experience in developing strategies for and implementing household-focused, community-based livelihoods development or economic strengthening initiatives for OVC, HIV-affected or vulnerable families
- Experience developing and implementing a range of economic strengthening interventions that reflect the differentiated needs of households
- Experience working with USAID-funded programs
- Demonstrated technical expertise in program design, planning, implementation, and evaluation; as well as training and materials development
