Subcontract Engineer

ENHL TECHNIPFMC is recruiting a Subcontract Engineer, to be based in Maputo, Mozambique.

Description

The Subcontract Engineer is the main point of contact with Subcontractors for all commercial, legal, financial and administrative matters in connection with Subcontracts in his area of responsibility

Duties

During the tendering phase

• Prepare the Instruction to Tender package (including Contractual Terms & Conditions, Scope of Work, Price Schedule, …) by recovering all information from Technical Specialist, Contract Manager, Cost Controller, Planner, operation
• Send ITT packages to bidders, receive and analyse the offers technically (with the support of specialist), commercially and contractually
• Negotiate the commercial and contractual conditions
• Issue a Bid Tabulation to compare the different offers received and issue the recommendation to award for Project management approval
• Finalize the signature of the Subcontract documents

During the administration phase

• Organize the kick-off meeting and ensure proper mobilization of subcontractor
• Ensure adherence of subcontractor with the terms and conditions of the subcontract (including issue of relevant insurances and bounds, schedule and progress follow-up, execution of the scope of work, implementation of the price schedule
• Manage the contractual correspondence with subcontractor
• Negotiate and issue Variation Orders and Subcontracts Amendments resulting from technical or contractual modifications
• Review and approve invoices
• Ensure proper information of Project Management Team on the status of the subcontracts and anticipate potential issues
• Act in coordination with the Operations/Package Manager and/or Project Manager to settle disputes/Claims if any
• Keep up to date registers for follow up of notifications, invoicing, milestones, claims
• Collect feedback from the project and fill in the feedback form and populate quality indicators
• Ensure close out of Subcontracts

Requisites

• 3 to 5 years’ experience in subcontracting or Supply Chain activities. High potential with less experience could be considered
• BSc., University degree in any of the main Legal, Business, Construction or Engineering branches., i.e., Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Chemical, or equivalent
• Rigorous, autonomous, open-minded, agile, and flexible
• Good interpersonal and influential skills
• Geographically mobile
• Good English written and spoken
