Experienced Insulators (m/f)

Description

• Insulators apply industrial insulation around piping equipment and pressure vessels to reduce the transfer of heat, cold/cryogenic temperatures and acoustic sound
• Insulators know how to read specifications for the different types, quantity, number of layers and the best and safest installation methods required for different conditions

Duties

• In this occupation activities may include:
• Storing and Maintaining Insulation so it is ready for use on site, and reading the material safety data sheet
• Identifying different materials for hot and cold insulation and understanding different densities of materials
• Efficient measuring and cutting insulation for covering surfaces
• Fitting insulation around obstructions, and shaping materials to provide protection as per the specification
• Covering, sealing or finishing insulated surfaces or access holes with plastic covers, sealants, tape, cement or asphalt mastic etc.
• Preparing surfaces for insulation application by brushing or spreading on adhesives, cement or asphalt, or by attaching metal pins to the surfaces to be insulated
• Preparing works for inspection by the client
• Working at heights
