Heading is recruiting an Export Transport Coordinator (m/f), to be based in Maputo, Mozambique.
Description
  • Heading Moz is searching for an Export Transport Coordinator for a client in the FMCG sector to be based in Maputo
  • A transport coordinator shall plan/book and monitor transport for exports (both on road and on rail) in the South & ensure that export loading on to ship at port are not compromised. Have the ability to communicate progress with all parties in the export logistics link: Transporters/Mills/Port Warehouses and Department Head
Duties
Planning/Analysis
  • Understand and agree movement requirements with all parties & understand/work to an agreed plan
  • Monitor/check production & stock levels at Mills regularly
  • Plan for Weekend/Public Holiday loading/offloading. Discuss/communicate with all parties
  • Analyze overall movement & preempt/resolve transport/loading delays
Communication
  • Communicate with various transporters and obtain trucks for each movement
  • Book loads on the Company's system & communicate loading plan with the Mill POS
  • Communicate loads in Transit to the target warehouse
Monitor
  • Develop system to monitor stock levels & production at Mills
  • Develop system to monitor truck supply to Mills. Where necessary, discuss with Transporters
  • Develop system to monitor loading performance at Mills. Discuss with Mills
  • Develop system to monitor offloading performance at Port Warehouses
  • Monitor any loading/transport/offloading/production issues & communicate to depth and to discuss solutions
Reporting
  • Report progress of individual movements on a daily basis to all parties
Extra Duties as Required
  • Perform the same duties for the Domestic market in the absence of the Domestic Transport Coord
Requisites
  • A relevant tertiary education in logistics or equivalent
  • Previous experience in similar positions from 3 to 5 years is mandatory
  • Experience of Logistics and knowledge of Maputo port operations mandatory
  • Experience of dealing with people and planning/running trucking operations mandatory
  • Computer Literate (MS Office Package)
Working Conditions
  • Normal daily working hours; over time as required by the work load
  • Be on call to resolve transport issues – especially during the weekend
