Financial Analyst

Eaglestone Moçambique is currently recruiting a Financial Analyst to incorporate our Advisory Practice and/or our Private Equity Team, to be based in our Maputo office.

Duties
  • Work as a team with analysts, managers, assistant directors to bring about added value solutions to our clients
  • Foster a productive, effective and positive team environment
  • Manage own schedules, deadlines and responsibilities

  • Proactively participate in other initiatives that promote a good working environment
  • Participate in meetings and establish contact with clients and other relevant external parties
  • Deliver quality outputs meeting schedules and deadlines
  • Revise and structure its own work in a way to a client-deliverable form
  • Revise and add value to its own work to minimise the need for revision of own work by more senior people
  • Understand the purpose of work being performed, present suggestions and discuss constructively with senior staff
  • Autonomously read and understand financial statements, annual reports and other financial documentation
  • Perform thorough analysis and, in other instances, quick, meaningful financial analysis
  • Develop complex financial models - MS Excel spreadsheets for investment analysis and business valuation. Autonomously develops financial models to a very high quality standard
  • Understand the key technical aspects of DCF or multiple valuation, discount rate estimation, IRR calculation, among others
  • Understand capital structuring and its implications in project execution and respective returns.
  • Develop market and industry sector research and analysis
  • Develop concise and meaningful analysis on business environment and strategy with, for example, SWOT analysis
  • Find answers and solutions by coordinating and structuring its own research work using the internet or other available means
  • Preparing information memoranda, investment teasers, investment opportunity presentations in various formats including MS Powerpoint and MS Word
  • Participate and support the team in administrative work and business development
  • Respect and promote the company’s defined procedures
  • Demonstrates and promotes punctuality and continuous professional posture and attitude
Requisites
  • Degree or Masters in Finance/Business/Economics
  • Other accounting and investment related studies or qualifications will be valued
  • Up to 4 years of working experience in Corporate finance / Project finance / Investment industry, Investment Banking or Strategy Consulting in junior or above-junior roles, or similar functions, in investment groups
  • Proficient English and Portuguese speakers
  • Experience with MS Excel, MS Powerpoint, MS Word, MS Outlook, Other Microsoft Office tools
