Description
  • Aldelia is a British Recruitment company with strong operation in Mozambique. We are looking for a professional (Financial Controller (Manager Level)) for one of our clients, which is a multinational in the Mining sector
Duties
  • The primary purpose of the Financial Controller (Manager) role is to develop, implement and manage strong accounting and reporting frameworks across the business, including overseeing and monitoring an effective control environment and providing strategic information and advice to respective management teams and the Executive Committee
  • Manage the preparation of financial statements, budget reports, forecasts, cost analysis reports, and profit & loss statements
  • Manage external and internal reporting requirements
  • Prepare the consolidated Annual Report and technical accounting papers for the Audit, Financial Risk and Compliance Committee
  • Provide technical guidance to the various business units across the Business, and maintain accurate, consistent and compliant company accounting policies & procedures
  • Providing insights into tax planning and risk mitigation strategies across the Business
  • Assist with the preparation and review of financial analysis packs for ExCo and Board meetings
  • Work to improve financial reporting processes and efficiencies across the Business
  • Review, assess and recommend changes to processes, procedures, and systems to improve the quality of internal controls to ensure the Business’ assets are safeguarded
  • Undertake proactive networking with all relevant stakeholder groups including external auditors
  • Manage a small high-performing team in dispersed geographical locations
  • Behave in a manner consistent with Company Values at all times
Requisites
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a senior financial role, preferably within the mining/extractive industries
  • Finance and or Accounting tertiary qualifications, including a CA or CPA post-graduate qualification
  • Well-developed knowledge of international financial, accounting and tax systems, including the ability to develop, implement and monitor internal controls
  • Strong technical skill set and in-depth knowledge of the Corporations Act, ASIC and ASX reporting requirements
  • Exceptional leadership skills and the ability to develop and maintain relationships at all levels
  • Strong report writing and presentation skills
  • High-level analytical skills and the ability to use data to guide and inform business decisions
  • Demonstrated experience influencing decisions making at an Executive level
  • Strong computer proficiency across all Microsoft Office applications and ERP system capability
