CICV is recruiting a Forensic Programme Assistant, to be based in Maputo, Mozambique.
Description
  • Purpose: The Forensic Programme Assistant provides full support and assistance on administrative and logistic matters to the Protection Coordinator to ensure the proper organization and management of forensic related activities
Duties
  • Contributes to the general knowledge of the Delegation about the Forensic programme, its humanitarian consequences, and the needs of their families
  • Accompanies the Forensic Specialist/Protection Coordinator in meetings with interlocutors, compiles minutes of meetings and assists when needed
  • Assists the Forensic Specialist in the Forensic budget maintenance and follow up, as well as its drafting during the Planning for Results (PfR) process
  • Maintains, organizes and keeps the Forensic Specialist and Protection Coordinator updated on the situation of the in-house storage of items for all Forensic projects and orders to replenish and maintain sufficient stock for dissemination on forensic topics
  • Takes a lead role in the coordination of forensic training/workshops/meetings with strong emphasis on the oversight and coordination of administrative and logistical functions (e.g. preparation of Supply Requests (SR), reporting on delivery of goods, donations, organizing accommodations, per diems, travel requests etc.)
  • Prepares equipment, including ordering of necessary consumables and disposables, to ensure adequate stock is always available for courses and trainings
  • Under the supervision of the Protection Coordinator,liaises with Sub-Delegations, concerned Field Officers and directly with participants to coordinate the invitations, registrations, transportations, accommodations, per diems, and general participation in meetings, round tables and trainings
Requisites
  • University degree (bachelor or equivalent) in medical sciences and / or university degree in forensic sciences / criminalistics or related sciences
  • Work experience in medicolegal practice and case work
  • Previous experience with ICRC or another International Humanitarian Agency is an asset
  • Strong sense of responsibility and adaptability
  • Ability to work independently and with a sense of initiative
  • Ability to cope with difficult situations (field, mortuaries, incident scenes, etc.)
  • Highly developed analytical, planning, communication and organizing skills
  • Forensic training experience and skills and capacity to adapt messages to diverse audiences
  • Excellent level in English and Portuguese language
